This online workshop will take place in response to the online performance of Can I Live? by Fehinti Balogun.
This workshop is a safe space dedicated to people of the Global Majority. What's it all about?
Join our online, interactive, post-show workshop to learn more about the climate movement. Whether you are new to the climate conversation or have been involved and are looking for your next steps, join these workshops to hear each other's stories and share your own. Each week, we will be joined by a guest speaker involved in local climate activism, who will be sharing their own journey and experiences, and inspiring ways to get involved.
How do I join?
This event is taking place online through Zoom. Simply sign up here by booking a free ticket and a link with joining instructions will be emailed out to you on the morning of the event. About Facilitator: Zahrah Vawda
Zahrah is a writer, visual artist and creative facilitator working with themes of nature, environment and community connection.
About the Guest speaker: Anairda
Anairda is a Latin American multidisciplinary artist and activist resident in the UK who believes in art as an agent of social change and healing. She's been involved in the climate and women's movement for more than 10 years through groups like Art Not Oil, the UK Climate Camp, Transition Plymouth and the Plymouth Women's Network. Anairda has organised community and art events, participated in environmental protests, given talks and workshops on Climate Justice, Eco-feminism and Art & Social Change. She currently coordinates her own cultural project Feminist Fusion and performs her political music regularly. She is a vegan and follows the indigenous spiritual traditions of the Americas.
